All about me!

image

My name is Amanda and as I’ve mentioned in my intro post, I’m addicted to a good time.

I quit smoking March 20th, 2011 and decided to use the energy and my addictive behavior on becoming a long distance runner, getting fit and becoming healthier.

I still love a good party and stiff drink but am trying to learn how to tread the fine line to enjoy the best of both worlds.

This blog will be a diary of sorts as I try to balance this new non-smoking, less partying, more running lifestyle. I hope others read, enjoy tips I may offer and become motivated in some way.

I love feedback, so please comment often and happy reading.

Congrats on quiting smoking πŸ™‚ Not an easy task.
I have never smoked (nor been addicted to drugs), but can relate to the addiction nature, I am highly addicted to running (and shopping but shhhh dont tell the husband)!! I find that running really cures a lot of things, particularly stress.
Happy Running !!!

Thanks!!!! I too, am addicted to shopping and totally get you on the SHH!!! part with the hubbs! haha Thanks for commenting! It really does help motivate when you feel that others can empathize or are there to support you! It’s especially nice to find other runners to relate to! I LOVE it.

Happy running to you, too, and look forward to chatting again. πŸ™‚

Congrats on quitting smoking girl! I quit Oct 2009 and I know that struggle well! Hang in there, the cravings will pass and I know you are already feeling better since quitting! Good job! πŸ™‚

Thanks, Katie! It’s so awesome to be a non-smoker! I still struggle with it when I drink, but other than those nights I don’t miss them at all!!! πŸ™‚ Congrat’s to you, too!!!!! Once you conquer the urge to smoke you really know you can conquer anything!!! πŸ™‚

Amanda — so nice to meet you!

I’m THRILLED you stopped by my blog, and I thank you for the great feedback…I do hope you enjoy the rest of my story! I’d suggest a nice bottle of wine as you read, however — it’s a doozie, and I think everything goes better with wine. πŸ˜‰

CONGRATS on your “not smoking” accomplishment! My boyfriend quit smoking (for me — right after we met) about 2 years ago — and he’s still going strong! He said the first year was the hardest, and he hasn’t really thought about it since. It’s a huge step … I hope your friends/family/husband are very proud of you!

Anyhow, I look forward to reading more about you, but I just wanted to leave a quick message of thanks…take care, and good luck on that kitchen remodel (hope you’ll blog about that — I need ideas for my own!).
